Copies of our Liskeard Heritage Trail guides are available to visitors, free of charge, offering a self-guided informative walk around this ancient market town. The guides are also available in Spanish, French, German and Italian. Special guides are available for children.
For those interested in the architecture of Liskeard, there is an album, The Life and Work of Henry Rice, which incorporates the Henry Rice Trail Map. Henry Rice was a Liskeard Architect at the time of the 19th century copper mining boom and was in great demand to design a wide range of properties – for the bankers, the wealthy mine bosses, business premises, churches and cottages for miners. With over a hundred of his properties illustrated, the album is a comprehensive record of his work and a tribute to the man whose work defines the appearance of the town. This album is on sale in Stuart House @ £8.00.
GUIDED WALKS in the town can be arranged to suit the group, according to their mobility (hilly areas can be left out!). Please contact Stuart House to state requirements.
